Blooming Burlap Jar

This charming little basket is designed to hold a half pint sized canning jar, included. It has a round wood base and a burlap ribbon accent weaver. The basket is finished with a traditional waxed linen lashed rim, a burlap flower embellishment and raffia to tie on the jar.

Mason Vase

The perfect gift for any occasion, this sweet functional vase starts on a round wood base. Students will learn to continuous weave around a pint-sized Mason jar. Emphasis is placed on tightly following the curved shape of the jar. Lace, sparkly jute, and a floral frog lid make this vase extra special.

Alley Cat Swirl

Transition from a crow’s foot closed base to continuous weave to make your swirl as you weave up the sides. Shaping and double-lashed rim completes a quick, handy basket. Other color options will be available at class time.

Low Tide

Low Tide starts on a Quick Weave handle. If you have never used one before for a wall/door basket you are in for a treat! Just slide the spokes in and GO! This basket is an exercise in spacing and shaping. Since it is woven on a Williamsburg shaped handle you will be flaring the spokes. The bright blue accent color and seashells complete the look.

“CCC” Camouflage Casserole Carrier

This very useful basket is started on a maple grooved base. You will insert spokes, start and stop weaving, accented with ‘Camouflage’ spaced dyed weavers (thus the name ‘Camouflage Casserole Carrier’). Complete the basket by double lashing with black cane. Evergreen Stripe shaker tape handles secured to the bottom of base with skates.

Pie Plate Heart

This is no frills weaving. The objective is to learn how to weave for a specific shape. The 6” wood base has a cut out in the shape of a heart. This basket is made for a 9” or 10” pie plate. Be the hit of the party with either pie or a dip and a unique basket. Anyone can make a pie or dip, but not everyone can show up with a pie plate basket!

Patriotic or Seasonal Wall Hanging

This wall or door hanging basket is woven around a sealed, two color, painted handle. Hints are given to start the spokes. Alternating colors weave up the basket. The complementary weavers on top have a cane cross stitch accent. The embellishments may differ from that shown. Little Cutie

This ornament sized basket is woven from 140 pound cold pressed water color paper that has been painted with acrylic paint. The base of the basket is twined with waxed linen. The basket will be woven on a mold which will be provided. The handle will be wrapped. Two basket kits will be provided per student. Many color options available.

Tristan’s Nantucket Trinket Basket

Oval Sweetgrass Basket w/Twisted Rim

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced basket weaver, this class will allow you to put your imagination to use.Sweetgrass baskets are coiled with sweetgrass and Southern long-leaf pine needles and lashed with strips of palmetto. Techniques taught will enable students to design a variety of shapes and sizes of sweetgrass baskets. This is an art form stemming from West Africa over 300 years ago. No water is required. Scissors only. Additional tools will be provided during class.

Woven on 6" hoops, this small basic melon basket is just right for the first-time rib basket weaver. Students will start with an attractive handle wrap; complete a natural/color God's eye; learn to prepare ribs to frame/shape their baskets, then finish weaving with reed and seagrass. Color choices at class time.
